Wal-Mart / Sam’s Club RFID compliance

Wal-Mart had been trying to convert over to RFID since 2003. Originally, suppliers could not conform to the requirements and Wal-Mart remained tolerant of non-compliance. Nearly half a decade later, Wal-Mart is trying again to convert over to RFID, but this time through its Sam’s Club subsidiary. This January, Sam’s Club notified its suppliers of the new RFID requirements. By the end of 2009, all pallets and cases will be required to have RFID tags. By the end of 2010, all units will be tagged. Non-compliant suppliers will be charged by Sam’s Club $2-$3 per pallet. This shows that Sam’s Club and Wal Mart are getting serious about the RFID transition. Since Sam’s Club and Wal-Mart suppliers ship a high volume of product to them, the price per pallet for non-compliance makes RFID an obvious upgrade, which is sure to boost the RFID industry dramatically.

BaxTek Solutions was one of the first supply chain solution providers to offer an easily deployable cost effective solution to respond to RFID mandates. We can help suppliers meet any and all compliance requirements. We used Wal-Mart’s original RFID requirements and guidelines to build a customizable solution with integrated RFID capabilities into our existing Warehouse Management Sytems.

Whether you’re an existing Warehouse Management customer who wants to maximize the value internally from investments in RFID or a Sam’s Club supplier looking for a quick and reliable solution to meet Wal-Mart’s pallet, case and eventually item-level requirements, we can help.

Technicolor uses RedBeam Check In/Check Out

RedBeamWhen Technicolor/Thomson sought a solution to track their Symbol MC9000 and Falcon handheld scanners, they turned to BaxTek Solutions and RedBeam software.

Technicolor needed a way to check in and check out these devices from a protected tool cage so that they could track their usage and protect their investment of over 300 hundred units.
