Thermal Transfer

A printing method that uses ribbon to produce exceptional image clarity, as compared to most direct thermal media types. The 4 section split-hub design allows for lower torque on narrow ribbons. This option can be used with either ‘coated side in’ ribbons or ‘coated side out’ ribbons.

40mm Media Hub

A rotating media hub that will accommodate 40mm media cores.

Standard Peel & Present

A simple "plate" style design that automatically separates most printed labels from the backing material and allows subsequent printing to occur only after the removal of a previously printed label. Minimum label length is 1.5 inches (38 mm).

Heavy Duty Peel & Present
(4" models only)
An internally "overdriven" design that auto-matically separates printed labels from the backing material and allows subsequent printing to occur only after the removal of a previously printed label. Minimum label length is 1.5 inches (38 mm).

Cutter

Plug and Play. Attach the option and it is auto detected during power up. The cutter is a rotary type mechanism capable of cutting media from .0025" to .0100" (.0635mm - .254mm) thick, and the cutter life is designed to exceed 500,000 cuts.

Self-Powered Internal Rewind
("X" models only)
A heavy-duty 8" label rewind option using a dedicated DC motor to tightly rewind a full 8" roll of labels and backing onto a 3" diameter core.

Internal Rewind

E-Class Options

Thermal Transfer

Thermal transfer printing requires the use of a ribbon. The ink/wax from the ribbon transfers to the media by the printer to create an image. Thermal transfer printing provides exceptional clarity and scanability.

External Cutter

The external cutter provides ease of automatic cutting for tags and labels after a label is printed. This feature attaches to the front of the printer.

Present Sensor

The present sensor allows the printer to be configured for "one up" printing. With the sensor installed, the printer will not print the next label until the previous printed label has been removed from the printer.

FLASH Memory Expansion

FLASH Expansion cartridges are used for permanent storage of custom fonts, formats and graphics. The FLASH memory cartridges cannot be used in conjunction with the ILPC option

External Media Supply Stand

The external media supply option allows the use of large media supply rolls, up to 8-inches in diameter, on 1" to 3" cores.

ILPC

International Print Capability consisting of one of the following:

• CG-Times (western European) Scalable font
• Kanji Gothic B Scalable font
• Simplified Chinese GB Scalable font

External Battery Pack

An external battery pack option is available to power the printer in areas where an AC receptacle is not available such as warehouses, shipping docks, vehicles, or mobile print stations. The battery pack option will allow the printer to operate up to 10 hours on a single charge.

RL4The Datamax-O'Neil RL4 Printer

Datamax-O'Neil built its reputation on rugged and reliable portable receipt printers and has now used this expertise to design the industry's most rugged portable label printer. Te RL4 is durable 4-inch(102mm) direct thermal printer with a rugged design and reliable performance that will continue to operate long after other printers have failed.

Anybody who’s ever been in a warehouse knows that when shipments are processed more quickly and effectively, productivity is increased and errors are reduced. The RL4 improves efficiency and productivity by allowing workers to print and apply barcode labels directly at the point of application. Using an RL4 to print on-demand labels also eliminates the danger of mixing up batch printed labels and saving thousands of dollars in potential shipping errors. The printer can even be mounted on fork trucks for added convenience and versatility.

Specifications at a glance

  • 4” [102 mm] direct thermal printer
  • 4.125” [105 mm] maximum print width
  • 2.00” - 4.12” [51 mm - 105 mm] media roll width
  • Optional Bluetooth or 802.11b/g/a connectivity

Features

  • Rugged And Reliable - With uncompromising standards, the RL4 endures even the most punishing environments, and passes the MIL-STD 810F drop testing requirements. The RL4 is so rugged it continues to print after 26 consecutive drops to concrete from 6ft(1.8m) even when tested at extreme temperature conditions.
  • Complete Line of Accessories - The versatile RL4 comes with a wide selection of charging and mounting accessories that allow it to be worn on the hip, mounted in a truck or even mounted and powered from a forklift operating system.
  • Easy to Integrate - The RL4 comes with popular language emulations that allow you to easily replace existing printers in the workplace. The printer is also compatible with the most popular WMS packages and offers optional wireless 802.11 and Bluetooth connectivity.
  • Great Battery Power - The long lasting lithium-ion battery offers maximum power capacity for a full 9-hour shift, even under the toughest conditions.
  • Easy to Use - Nobody likes to change the paper roll, but we've made it so easy you can do it with one hand. We've also included an easy to read LCD screen with simple user interface buttons and a peel-and-present mechanism for quicker label application.
  • Complete Line of Media & Supplies - Our Certified Label Supply Program ensures optimum, trouble-free performance from the RL4 and guarantees the highest quality print output and image stability.
  • Two-year Warranty - Comes with the industry's only two-year standard warranty - twice that of the competition!

Benefits

  • Increase Efficiency and Reduce Errors - In many warehouses, workers travel to and from a central location to pick up "batch printed" labels. While this method works, it also creates wasted movement and potential labeling errors. The RL4 eliminates the danger of "label mix up" by printing labels at the point of application. And, since workers aren't wasting time traveling to a central location, warehouse operations are far more efficient and productive.
  • Increase Productivity - The RL4 is built to keep pace in a busy warehouse. Labels print quickly and accurately every time, even in cold environments. Downtime is reduced thanks to a large media roll capacity and a battery that stays charged for a full shift.
  • Enjoy Higher ROI - In today's tough economic times, you can't afford to buy printers that fail. The RL4 comes with Datamax-O'Neil's legendary reliability and is backed by the industry's only standard two-year warranty.

    RFID Specification Brochure

Datamax-O'Neil – has taken the concept of RFID and smart labels and made it so user friendly, so dynamic and so robust that a revolution has been created in the smart label printing industry! The Datamax-O'Neil Engineering Team used their long history of innovation in printer design and channeled this experience toward designing a new smart label printer. This printer can encode data onto Radio Frequency (RF) chips embedded into a label – also known as a smart label – creating a powerful Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) label printer that is as easy for users to own and operate as other Datamax-O'Neil printers. The astonishing result of this activity is a collection of printers designed to ease users into RFID label printing applications while minimizing risk.

    RFID-UHF Printers

Datamax-O'Neil offers printers that support the UHF band; the A-Class print engine for printer applicator integration, the H-Class and the new M-Class Mark II. These printers are ideal for achieving compliance with mandates from large retailers and purchasing organizations, as well as economical enough for those users developing closed loop applications to streamline internal processes. All Datamax-O'Neil RFID-UHF printers support EPCglobal and ISO standards for Ultra High Frequency (UHF) applications including Gen2. The robust multi-protocol RFID tag encoder in these printers is capable of performing multiple procedures, including writing data to RFID tags, querying the tags unique identification number, and auto calibration of the tag to ensure no valuable RFID smart labels are wasted.

    RFID-HF Printers

For those users that need to encode High Frequency 13.56 MHz smart label tags to fulfill their printing and RFID encoding requirements, Datamax-O'Neil offers a choice of printers. These include the M-Class Mark II, H-Class, and I-Class. These RFID printers support the ISO 15693 standard at 13.56 MHz. Like the UHF models, the HF model is capable of performing multiple procedures, including writing data to RFID tags, querying the tags unique identification number, and auto calibration of the tag to ensure no valuable RFID smart labels are wasted.
